The Commission for Consumer Protection fined 3 baker's and confectioner's associations for setting prices of the products offered and limiting the market competition. The Commission has started a legal procedure in July 2007 in connection to the numerous messages in the media about a huge bread price increase.After an investigation it has been determined that the associations play an active role in the formation of price expectations and forecasts on the bakery market in Bulgaria, the Commission specifies. още »

The crisis causes lay-offs in a Razgrad piston factory
Because of the world financial crisis, workers are being laid off in a Razgrad firm, money is being saved from electricity and business trips abroad, and there would be no Christmas salaries. Kraft Foods transfers production from Romania to Bulgaria
The American food company Kraft Foods decided to transfer its production from the Romanian town of Brasov to Bulgaria by the end of 2009 aiming at increase of the production capacity. The chief executive director of Kraft Foods Romania commented: the strong development in Romania in the last year led to the necessity for additional production. Bulgaria needs 12 bln EUR for the modernization of the water infrastructure
Bulgaria needs 12 billion euro for the modernization of the water infrastructure. Bulgarian companies supplied illegally meat to Germany
Bulgarian companies have supplied illegally the German market with hundreds of tones of old rabbit and chicken meat and thus have gotten millions from the EU funds. This says a report, broadcast by the German television ZDF, informs BNR. The meat was imported in Bulgaria from China where it had been processed with antibiotics and harmful chemicals. In the Bulgarian companies the meat was re-labeled with Argentine being pointed out as the country exporter of the meat. още »

Companies from Bulgaria & Romania want to move to Serbia
Companies from Bulgaria and Romania want to move to Serbia. About 20 companies have shown interest in the last week in moving their production to Serbia, claimed the director of the Agency for foreign investment and export promotion Vesna Peric.According to her estimates this is a consequence of the global economic crisis.
