Cartel Arrangements in the Bakery Business
The Commission for Consumer Protection fined 3 baker's and confectioner's associations for setting prices of the products offered and limiting the market competition. The Commission has started a legal procedure in July 2007 in connection to the numerous messages in the media about a huge bread price increase.After an investigation it has been determined that the associations play an active role in the formation of price expectations and forecasts on the bakery market in Bulgaria, the Commission specifies. още »

Bulgarian customs expect 8 billion levs income
Customs Agency expects over 8 billion levs income in 2008. This was announced by its Director Hristo Kulishev during a discussion. For the period January - October the income of the Agency is over 7 billion levs.Only from taxes the customs have gathered over 3 billion levs, while from VAT tax from import - over 3,5 billion.The increase of income from fuel taxes is 22 percent, from cigarettes - nearly 25 percent, from alcohol - 55 percent and from automobiles - 56 percent. още »

Prices of real estate in Bulgaria remain stable according to a British company
The price of real estate in Bulgaria for now remains stable, despite the record decrease on a global scale for the last quarter, caused by the financial crisis. These are the results of a survey of the British real estate consulting company "Knight Frank".Great Britain, which marks a decrease of real estate prices of 4.6 percent for the last quarter, is one of the worst affected countries along with Latvia, Norway and Canada. още »

SOFIX jumped with over 7.5%
The stock exchange in Sofia opened with a growth and large purchases of shares of "Zarneni hrani Bulgaria" and "Sopharma". Thus the growth trend since the last two sessions continues. The turnover of the first deals was for over 350 000 euro with the basis for this result being the transfer of more than 280 thousand shares of "Sopharma". Enormous financial hardships forecasted for Bulgaria and Romania
Bulgaria, Romania and other economies on the Balkan peninsular will face hardships because of the global economic slump, which will lead to an increase of unemployment for the first time in many years. Lay offs start in two leading Silistra firms
