Unemployment in Bulgaria Decreases
Unemployment in Bulgaria decreased to 5.8% in August, the Employment Agency announced. In July the level of unemployment was 5.9%.The Social Minister Emilia Maslarova said that in 2009 the level of unemployment will be 5.6%.The Bulgarian government set a goal that unemployment to be lower than 7% in 2008. SOFIX and BG-40 Collapsed
The trade at the Bulgarian stock exchange on Thursday started discouragingly. After the initial decrease the indexes regenerated a little. Despite that SOFIX remains a step away from the 800 points, BG-40 is under 200 points. BGTR30 and BGREIT are also decreasing. Bulgaria is among the countries with highest inflation in the EU, a research conducted by Eurostat shows. Bulgaria Takes 68th Place on Economic Freedom
Bulgaria takes the 68th place in the world on economic freedom. This is according to data from the yearly report of the Canadian institute "Fraser" for 2008, distributed in Bulgaria by the Institute for market economy. Shock Price Increase of Electricity Awaits Bulgaria
A shock increase of the price of electricity will be a fact after the elections next year. This was forecasted by the Chair of the Association of the producers of ecological energy Velizar Kiriyakov. The Sofia Stock Exchange Collapses
A negative tendency, resulting from the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers, was carried over the Bulgarian stock exchange. The indexes opened the week with a serious decrease of their values. SOFIX lost 3% down to 931, 2 points.There was a collapse of the market index BG40 - by 3,36% down to 226,364 points.The rest of the indexes in the stock exchange are also decreasing - BGREIT now reached 82,84 points, decreasing by 1,53%. още »
