Bulgarian Inflation for April Breaks European Record
14,6 annual inflation announced from National Statistical Institute. The index for consumer prices for April this year compared to March 2008 is 100,9% and the inflation is 0,9%. The inflation for the period January - April 2008 compared to the same period last year is 13,6%.After the goods and the services with biggest price jump for April compared to March are: the alcohol drinks and tobacco - up with almost 3%, foodstuff and beverages - 1,3%, clothes and shoes - with increase of 1,6%. още »

SOFIX Plummets to Under 1000 Points
At a turnover of 930,000 levs the loss of the BFB (Bulgarian Federal Bank) indexes continue to plunge. SOFIX falls down by 3,47 percent to 983,41 points. BG-40 loses 3.71 percent to 250,10 points. The current values of SOFIX have last been observed on March 3 2006 when its level was 973,50 points.A big slump was registered at the opening of the stock market. още »

Bulgaria & Romania To Pay 25 Mln EUR Each for Reconstruction of Danube Bridge
Bulgaria and Romania will have to provide 25 mln EUR each for a thorough reconstruction of the Danube bridge between the towns of Rousse and Giurgiu. This is the agreement reached by the Bulgarian minister of transport Peter Mutafchiev and his Romanian colleague Ludovic Orban during their meeting in Rousse, announced BNR. Experts from the two countries will prepare proposals about the terms and the actions, which will approved on the next ministerial meeting in the Romanian town of Calafat in September. още »

Bulgarian companies construct 100 000 homes in Jordan. The Arab kingdom has invited Bulgarian engineers for the massive construction which will continue for 5 years. Moody's Reduces the Credit Rating of Kremikovtzi
For the first time this year the credit agency Moody's Investors Service reports more reductions of ratings of Eastern European companies than increases because according to analyzers the financial crisis started in the USA is taking on global dimensions, Bloomberg reports. Moody's have decreased the ratings of four companies, among which are the metallurgical giant Kremikovtzi and the Polish Zlomrex - the biggest supplier of metal scrap for the country. още »

New Airline Sofia - Brussels to be Opened
The Bulgarian ambassador for Belgium Hristo Georgiev opened the new airline of ‘Wizzair' Avio Company, which will connect Sofia with the second by size Belgium airport ‘Brussels - South - Charleroi. Bulgaria Ratifies a Gas Agreement
Bulgaria's National Assembly ratified the agreement between the governments of Bulgaria and the Russian Federation for cooperation in the construction of the gas pipe "Yuzhen Potok" (Southern Stream) for transportation of natural gas through Bulgaria's territory. Cartel Arrangements in the Bakery Business
The Commission for Consumer Protection fined 3 baker's and confectioner's associations for setting prices of the products offered and limiting the market competition. The Commission has started a legal procedure in July 2007 in connection to the numerous messages in the media about a huge bread price increase.After an investigation it has been determined that the associations play an active role in the formation of price expectations and forecasts on the bakery market in Bulgaria, the Commission specifies. още »

Massive Hotel Bankrupts on Bulgarian Seaside
Average 3 - 4 holes are bankrupting every week on the Bulgaria seaside, the State Agency of Tourism (SAT) data shows. That was announced by the SAT chairman Anelia Krushkova.Dozens of hotels are being announced for sale, but there are no buyers.
