Foreign Investments in Bulgaria - Dirty Money Laundering?
As EU newcomer Bulgaria aims to attract ever larger flows of foreign investment, authorities and analysts have raised fears that part of the money streaming into the country may have been laundered. "A growing number of investigations come to a dead end as we find that money that we had good reason to consider dirty, or resulting from criminal activity, has been transferred through foreign banks and returned to Bulgaria as 'fresh' investment," said national investigation service chief Boyko Naydenov. още »

SAPARD Funding To Be Renewed After Approval of the Action Plan
Over 226 million BGN (113 million EUR) will be paid from the national budget for projects under the SAPARD program, the payment of which was blocked by the European commission. This announced the Bulgarian minister of agriculture and foods Valeri Tsvetanov.The payment of this sum, however, will start after the audit commission investigates the implementation of the action plan and the adoption of the report of the national leader by Brussels. още »

New Auction for a Fourth GSM Operator
The Commission for message regulation will announce an auction for a fourth GSM operator, after the procedure announced in June was terminated, because of lack of interest. 38 Million Euro Invested in the First Hybrid Electric Plant in Bulgaria
A project of the first Bulgarian hybrid electric plant, which will be built on a terrain in the area of Troyanovo village, was presented at a press conference today. The Wind-photovoltaic electric plant "Zlaten yug" (Golden south) will be the first of its kind on the Balkan peninsular. Establishment of 2 Dams on the Danube Considered
A special working group will investigate the possibilities for construction of two dams along the stream of the Danube river, decided the Bulgarian Council of ministers, informed BNR. Energy Accountants: We Are Not a Cartel
There is no cartel agreement among the energy accountants and we are not afraid of fines. This was announced by Todor Kuzmanov, Chair of the Association of energy accountants (ATC), in the morning block of the Bulgarian National Television.
