Foreign Investments in Bulgaria - Dirty Money Laundering?
As EU newcomer Bulgaria aims to attract ever larger flows of foreign investment, authorities and analysts have raised fears that part of the money streaming into the country may have been laundered. "A growing number of investigations come to a dead end as we find that money that we had good reason to consider dirty, or resulting from criminal activity, has been transferred through foreign banks and returned to Bulgaria as 'fresh' investment," said national investigation service chief Boyko Naydenov. още »

EU Grants 700,000 EUR to Bulgarian Dupnitza for Project Realizing
700, 000 EUR will receive Dupnitza Municipality (Southwestern Bulgaria) by EU funds for four projects, money.bg announced.The Dupnitza Municipality prepares four big ecological projects with large influence over the bio - balance recovering in the region. IKEA to Redirect Investments From Poland to Bulgaria or Romania
Swedish IKEA furniture retailer has threatened to freeze the investments in Poland and redirect them to Bulgaria or Romania, Polish Puls Biznesu business daily reported, quoted by Sofia Echo.The company became angry by legislative limitations regarding the operation of large commercial sites. Local Water Bottler ‘Devin' to Become Regional Leader
Local water bottler ‘Devin', owned by Austrian ‘Soravia Group', intends to acquire up to three beverage companies in the Balkans in the next two years. Generali PPF With Own Reinsurance Company in Bulgaria
Czech-Italian insurance group Generali PPF Holding will ask Bulgarian authorities for permission to start its own reinsurance company in the south-eastern European country, daily Mlada Fronta Dnes reported, citing the holding's chief executive officer (CEO).The move is expected to reduce costs and the reinsurer will serve all insurers in the Generali PPF Holding as well as external partners, the CEO told the daily. още »

The Project for Bulgarian Mega Power Plant “Maritsa-East” Ready in Several Months
The leadership of thermal power plant (TPP) AES – 3C “Maritsa East-1” presented today the built steel construction of Generator 1 of the plant near the Bulgarian town of Gulubovo.Official guests at the event were the economic minister Peter Dimitrov, the US ambassador to Bulgaria John Beyrle, informs the Economic portal of Stara Zagora.
