Foreign Investments in Bulgaria - Dirty Money Laundering?
As EU newcomer Bulgaria aims to attract ever larger flows of foreign investment, authorities and analysts have raised fears that part of the money streaming into the country may have been laundered. "A growing number of investigations come to a dead end as we find that money that we had good reason to consider dirty, or resulting from criminal activity, has been transferred through foreign banks and returned to Bulgaria as 'fresh' investment," said national investigation service chief Boyko Naydenov. още »

IKEA to Redirect Investments From Poland to Bulgaria or Romania

Local Water Bottler ‘Devin' to Become Regional Leader
Local water bottler ‘Devin', owned by Austrian ‘Soravia Group', intends to acquire up to three beverage companies in the Balkans in the next two years. The leadership of thermal power plant (TPP) AES – 3C “Maritsa East-1” presented today the built steel construction of Generator 1 of the plant near the Bulgarian town of Gulubovo.Official guests at the event were the economic minister Peter Dimitrov, the US ambassador to Bulgaria John Beyrle, informs the Economic portal of Stara Zagora. Bulgarian Competition Protection Commission Stops Lom Harbor Concession
The Commission on Protection of Competition (CPC) stopped the procedure for the concession of the harbor at the Bulgarian Danube town of Lom.
